Paths of Understanding History

IE Creativity Center, Segovia
Paths of Understanding History is presented as a tour of the Collegium collection made possible through collaboration with the IE Creativity Center. This space, affiliated with the Segovia campus of IE University, hosts an exhibition designed for both museum and university to collectively reflect on the educational possibilities of art and the global nature of knowledge.

The students of IE University have collaborated in the research on the artworks and the writing of texts accompanying them on the labels. Additionally, the exhibition will be part of academic events such as the IE Creativity Day and the Arts & Humanities Week. All of this is aimed at making the exhibition serve as a meeting place between art and education, bringing together the university community and promoting shared learning.

Paths of Understanding History is an adaptation of History between Persistence and Critique to the exhibition space of the Creativity Center, where ten artists from the Collegium collection explore themes such as the construction of history and the importance of educational processes from different contexts. It also includes several works created by Ayla Tavares during her residency at Collegium, as well as the video that documented her stay.

Artists: Yto Barrada, Tim Berresheim, Iman Issa, Louise Lawler, Ibrahim Mahama, Carlos Martiel, Odires Mlászho, Walid Raad, Ayla Tavares, Mariana Tellería, and Nasan Tur.

Curator: Aldones Nino
